Greenhouses, Nurseries and Agricultural projects use a wide variety of shade and heat retention material. Qualities vary dramatically, as do uses, methods of installation, percentage of shade or degree of heat savings.
Some materials are just laid over the field or installed on small wire frames. At the opposite extreme are two or three layers of crop toning, shade and heat retention systems now being used in controlled environment growing.
A popular use is a structure designed as a crop protection system using wires, drives and pulleys to open and close the roofs and sides of the structure depending on the light, rain and other weather conditions.
We have observed very inexpensive materials in Asia requiring two layers of material to attain 50% shade and only lasts 7 - 9 months. They are black and therefore can add to heat load. We have seen price as low as .020 cents USD per square foot ($20.00 per hundred square feet). But it is easy to see that this is not the actual installed cost. There are good quality sources in Asia, North and Central America as well as Europe.
Black woven material in rolls and black knitted material are the least expensive. About 30% of our black material have been in black knitted fabric rather than woven. Sales of woven are increasing annually. The material stretches so does not require all the hemming and grommeting of woven material but under extreme conditions we have noticed some water holding capabilities under heavy rain conditions. Then strength of structure comes into play.
To our clients purchasing sizeable quantities of black woven or knitted material we are happy to supply details for build your own structure, generally for systems over 50,000 square feet,as posts, wire support, twin benches and cable are readily available locally. These constructions are for permanent in place non opening and closing systems and are available in complete detail after contract signing.
More complicated moveable roof systems are offered with complete materials or partial material so you can build your own structure using our shade/heat retention system accessories.
Many of our clients buy fabric only in either bulk roll material, fabricated to order sheets or unfabricated material for hemming, sewing and grommeting locally.

They are pioneers in quality fabrics and are recognized worldwide for quality, durability, engineering assistance with worldwide testing always in process. Other fine products offered are PAK and various other manufacturers around the world.
